River Phoenixs Sister Rain Marks His 54th Birthday, More Than 30 Years After Stand by Me Actors Death
Rain Phoenix is keeping her brother River Phoenix's memory alive on what would have been his 54th birthday. Rain, 51, shared a number of photos of River, who died in 1993 of a drug overdose at age 23, to her Instagram on Friday, Aug. 23 to mark the late actor's birthday. The photo carousel also contained a number of quotes attributed to the Stand by Me actor, who was an up-and-coming star in the years before his death.
