The Giants lead the division with a 3-2-1 record while the Cowboys and Eagles are 2-4 ahead of their Monday night matchup. Should the Texans beat the Giants on Sunday, the winner of the Dallas-Philadelphia game will likely be feeling pretty good about their chances of navigating the final 10 games well enough to wind up hosting a playoff game in the first round of the postseason.
On Friday, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb acknowledged that the Cowboys are "very fortunate that everybody else is playing pretty bad" because it has kept things within their reach and he shared his feeling that the team's talent will wind up winning out.
"We think about it just like that ," Lamb said, via the team's website. "Anybody can win his division, so why not us? Every opportunity that we can get, we know what we're messing up, and what are our areas of improvement — like playing complementary ball. I feel like, at the end of the day, we feel like we have the best roster, top down, and we've got to be able to play like that on Sundays or Mondays."
That last part has been the trickiest part for the Cowboys, but a couple of wins would make for a very different outlook in Dallas heading into the second half of the season.
