About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Laura Sanko sees great potential among the graduating class from Season 10 of Dana White's Contender Series.
Sanko has been a staple of the DWCS program since its inception a decade ago. She's called nearly every fight throughout the show's history, and has studyied and interacted with the overwhelming majority of the talent that competed on the DWCS platform.
The 10th season led to a record-tying 46 fighters offered UFC contracts by CEO Dana White, and a few of them have already made their octagon debuts in successful fashion.
Who has the greatest upside to make waves as a future contender or even a UFC champion? Is it former ONE Championship standout Akbar Abdullaev (14-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), whom White called arguably the "greatest talent" to ever compete on the show? Or maybe 21-year-old Smilla Sundell (3-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who has been touted as a potential future game changer at women's bantamweight? Where does flyweight Bilal Hasan (10-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who is already scheduled for his sophomore octagon appearance at UFC 334 on Nov. 14 in New York, fit into the equation?
UFC commentator and analyst Sanko has opinions on all the upsides, and provided a ranking of her top five DWCS Season 10 prospects in the latest episode of "The Bohnfire" podcast with MMA Junkie senior reporter Mike Bohn, in the video above.
