Russell Brand was reportedly “petrified” during his brutal first night in a UK prison after his rape conviction.
The disgraced comedian handed over his clothes and received a “humiliating” strip search, before he was given gray jogging bottoms, T-shirts, sweatshirts and underwear, the Sun reported on Friday.
Brand, 51, got a “first-night pack” of toiletries, including a toothbrush and toothpaste, and a food pack including cereal, tea, milk, sugar and treats like juice sticks and digestive biscuits.

The podcaster was also offered one toilet roll, a bible and a vape pack, while his first prison meal was an “inedible” microwave option, according to the outlet.
Brand, whose wife, Laura, supported him during his trial, was reportedly allowed one three-minute call that had to be approved by the prison.
Before bedtime, staff reportedly performed a mental health evaluation on Brand, where they checked on his “state of mind” and made sure he “was not a danger to himself.”

The “Get Him to the Greek” star is being monitored around the clock by guards and prohibited from interacting with other inmates, a source told the Sun.
But Brand “will be relatively safe” in the facility, the insider said. The source also noted that Brand will be moved to a different prison after he’s sentenced on Monday.
Brand was found guilty Thursday of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault following a four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court in London.
The judge, Justice Joel Bennathan, told Brand he will be given a “significant” prison sentence.
Brand was denied bail and left court in a police van.
He was, however, acquitted of two additional rape charges and one charge of attempted indecent assault.

After Brand’s conviction, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that Brand is under investigation for two more rape accusations.
One of the accusers was allegedly 16 when she dated 30-year-old Brand.
Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy called Brand a “danger to women.”
Last year, Brand was formally charged with rape and sexual assault for alleged incidents spanning from 1999 to 2005.

Brand pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied all allegations, maintaining that his sexual encounters were consensual.
During a 2023 interview with police, Brand admitted he’s “led a very promiscuous life in the past” and has had “countless sexual encounters,” but said he’s “never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity.”
Brand also labeled the allegations against him “defamatory and fictitious.”
