A BRITISH hiker was left significantly injured after being attacked by a yak while she was climbing near Mount Everest.

The Brit who was on a mission to succeed in Everest basecamp in a bid to boost funds for charity was attacked by the animal on the fourth day of the trek on the village of Tengboche.
Recalling the horror she advised Wales Online: "I used to be chatting with my brother and his spouse and their son Bobi displaying them the yak on FaceTime. I was around two metres away from him.
"Without warning I might hear the hoofs pounding in the direction of me, a pointy stabbing pain within the prime of my leg.
"It threw me up within the air around a metre and I landed back down with a thud.
"Clutching my upper leg I seemed and the yak was dragging its hoof in the dusty ground ready to go at me for a second time together with his horns down.
"I screamed and managed to boost my leg and shout. With that I acquired up and [fellow team member] Lloyd went for assist.
"I used to be then airlifted to hospital where the medical employees cleaned my wound and stitched me up."
Despite bleeding heavily, Emma acquired emergency first assist from other members of the trek group.
Luckily on the trek was firefighter Carl Marsh who was capable of help her because of his medical training.
He stated: "We had just arrived and we have been enjoying our first espresso to heat us up when one of the staff came operating into the tea house screaming for help saying she's simply been attacked by a yak.

Emma, who was raising funds for Kidney Wales was airlifted to Lukla airport and brought to a medical centre where she was given ten stitches.
Emma was adamant about finishing the trek so she rejoined the group as soon as she recovered and finished the ultimate a part of the route on horseback.
She stated: "It was essential that I proceed with the trek as it meant a lot to me.
"Before I headed out for the flight, I might think about myself at basecamp (something I had been coaching for and searching ahead to method over a yr).
"My charity means so much to me as my brother Peter is at present on the transplant listing desperately needing a kidney.
"When the accident occurred I simply stored considering of him and how he would feel if I acquired to basecamp.
