CITY officers are cracking down with penalties for drivers who illegally park on sidewalks.
A Pennsylvania city has kicked off a parking initiative growing citations issued to car house owners who depart their automobiles parked on sidewalks.
The elevated enforcement began on Monday, Metropolis of Harrisburg Director of Communications Matt Maisel advised The U.S. Solar.
Based on a release, officers have one main message for drivers with the initiative.
"In case you are caught parking on the sidewalk within the City of Harrisburg," metropolis officers said in the information release.
"Public safety officers have a message for you: You'll pay."
Parking on sidewalks is a violation of Chapter 3, Part 121.3 of the Metropolis Code.
The regulation states: "The operator of a car shall not…park a car at anywhere between the curb line or property line of any road."
In addition to serving tickets to violating automobiles, Harrisburg City Code allows for extra penalties for each hour a automotive is just not moved.
The regulation relating to parking in the metropolis states:
"There shall be a separate unlawful parking cost of $30 for every consecutive separate interval of 1 hour throughout which such illegal parking continues."
Maisel harassed that the City of Harrisburg is "simply implementing a coverage already in place" with the crackdown.

The forums have been led by Harrisburg Metropolis Council's Public Safety division.
"After listening to the considerations of our residents concerning the ongoing parking issues in the metropolis of Harrisburg," Public Security Chairman
on Harrisburg Metropolis Council Lamont Jones started in a press release.
"To ensure the security and accessibility of pedestrians and residents, I will continue to work successfully and collectively with city authorities on the considerations of residents in the great city of Harrisburg."
The Harrisburg Metropolis Director of Communication stated The Metropolis does not at present have numerous tickets issued.
Maisel added that the division might have an update on the quantity of tickets issued as part of the initiative within a month or two.
