Family pays tribute to boy, 16, who died after crashing bike in a field | Y057726 | 2024-04-02 11:08:01
The heartbroken household of a 16-year-old boy who died after his farm bike crashed has paid tribute to a 'lovely, variety and wonderful' boy.
Hector Eccles died after the farmyard car he was driving crashed right into a area in Worsthorne, Lancashire simply after midnight on Saturday.
The teenager, from the rural town about two miles east of Burnley, crashed whereas on a Polaris Ranger Farmbike yesterday.
His car veered out of a carriageway and onto Extwistle Street at around 12.40am.
In a tribute alongside a photograph of Hector, his family stated: 'We want to thank everyone for the type phrases and sympathy over the previous few days.
'That is our Hector on his farm together with his animals, where he beloved to spend is time.
'All the time happiest on the farm, at Gisburn Auction or together with his buddies and colleagues in Pendle Younger Farmers.
'Hector will all the time be in our hearts and minds, we'll all the time keep in mind our lovely, variety and wonderful boy.'
A Burnley native additionally aboard the bike, aged 17, prevented being critically injured.
Police are appealing for witnesses. No other automobiles have been concerned in the incident.
Sgt Martin Wilcock added: 'This collision has resulted in an adolescent dropping his life and my thoughts are together with his loved ones at this troublesome time.
'Having carried out in depth work to determine the circumstances of what led to the collision, we're glad that this is not a felony investigation and we at the moment are finishing up enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

'A family is grieving and I might ask the public – notably those on social media – to not interact in any unhelpful, pointless and hurtful speculation.'
A Polaris Ranger Farmbike is a kind of utility terrain car (UTV), also referred to as a side-by-side.
