HAVING failed to land himself a coaching gig for the 2024 NFL season, Bill Belichick is headed for TV.
The former New England Patriots head coach, 72, was recently announced as a guest on ESPN's ManningCast, joining hosts and former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning.

"For those who don't know, Coach is gonna be doing some work on Eli and my Monday Night Football show this year," Peyton revealed.
"I gotta tell you, it's gonna be awesome. Eli and I are super excited.
"And it's gonna give Coach Belichick something he hasn't had in a while – The chance to be around quarterbacks that he respects."
Further details regarding Belichick's involvement in the Monday Night Football alternative broadcast were revealed by Peyton on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday.
"It was an easy pitch to Bill because I said, 'Bill we want you to come on, and look we'd love to go behind the ropes on the defensive side as to kind of what the [Philadelphia] Eagles are going to have to do to stop Patrick Mahomes,'" he explained.
Peyton joked that he'd also told Belichick that should he need to fill some time while on the air, then he's free to mock his brother Eli who beat Belichick's Patriots twice in the Super Bowl.
Peyton even quipped that "Bill doesn't like Eli" as a result of the losses.
He went on to explain that Belichick will be a regular fixture throughout the season, "Early in the game, probably the first quarter."
Belichick's focus will be on deciphering what defenses are doing as well as "what the quarterback's challenges are."

Peyton was confident that viewers would "be fascinated in how smart" Belichick is, combined with his wit and sense of humor.
And his confidence seems well placed, given the responses of fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, to the news.
"This gonna be fire," said one fan.
"Belichick and the Mannings breaking down ball. Yeah, I'm in," a second commented.

While a third added, "I don't think Bill was anticipating going into the season not coaching but I love how he's embraced being on shows and being a host.
"He's good at TV oddly enough."
Along with his role during Brady's roast, Belichick also appeared on The Pat McAfee Show's annual Draft Spectacular live from Detroit, Michigan.
He gave a fascinating insight into the players picked and the draft process throughout the first round, which led to McAfee offering him a regular role on their show during the season.

While the specifics seemingly have yet to be ironed out, McAfee suggested Belichick could appear on Mondays, prompting the two to shake on it.
"Let's see if we can work that out," Belichick said.
2024 marks the first NFL season in which Belichick will not coach since 1974.
