First Take viewers demand Stephen A. Smith 'apologize' after ESPN analyst says he's 'disgusted' over MLB star Mike Trout | JFU33YN | 2024-05-02 02:08:01
STEPHEN A. SMITH has found himself in hot water after a controversial comment about one of baseballs biggest stars.
Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout is out indefinitely after it was announced he needed surgery to repair a torn Meniscus.
Stephen A. Smith went on a furious rant about MLB star Mike Trout[/caption]Stephen A. made a comment on First Take, saying he didn't understand how baseball players get injured.
"Mike Trout is a sensational players when healthy, one of the greatest, and I'm a huge huge fan," Stephen A. said.
"But I've grown disgusted with his lack of availability. I know he looks the part.
"What the hell are you doing to take care of yourself? Always injured. I mean, damn, it's baseball.
"What are we talking about here? It's not football. It's not boxing. It's not the UFC."
According to Stephen A, baseball players don't play hard enough in order to get serious injuries.
"How the hell is he always hurt? I don't understand this!" Stephen A. yelled.
"It drives me crazy when I see baseball players getting hurt. What is it that you're doing with yourself physically that you can't stay healthy?"
While Trout has struggled with serious injuries in recent years, Stephen A. may be forgetting the dominant force that he has been in his career.
Before 2021, Trout played 114 games or more, excluding the Covid season.

He is also a nine-time All Star and three-time MVP, and was on a stellar pace in 2024, leading the league with 10 home runs before going down with injury.
Trout was in the top five in MVP voting for nine straight years from 2012 to 2019.
Despite his accomplishments, Stephen A. can only see injuries when looking at Mike Trout.
"Somebody that great, I wanna see him on the field when it counts," Stephen A. said.
MLB fans were furious with Stephen A's analysis of Trout and clamored for him to apologize to one of the game's biggest stars.
"Stephen A Smith yelling over Mike Trout getting hurt with a torn Meniscus he should apologize," one fan said.

"SAS please dont disrespect baseball.. some called Trout this generation of Mickey Mantle of your Yankees.. but did u know Mickey was having similar problems like Trout," a third fan said.
"Forget about this. @stephenasmith comment about @MikeTrout injury is ridiculous," a fourth fan said.
"This cat is the last human being that should be talking about any physical ability to play any sport."
