The Tigers are the 24th of the 30 MLB teams to unveil a City Connect uniform, modeling theirs off of ties to Detroit's automotive industry.

The uniform has a dark blue and black colorway, with a pattern down the middle resembling a tire tread.

The jersey reads "MOTOR CITY" across the front while the hats say "DETROIT."

The Tigers kept it extremely simple with their City Connect jerseys, but the designers are excited with the results.

"We are excited to introduce the Tigers City Connect uniforms and celebrate the past, present, and future of the Motor City," said Ryan Gustafson, President and CEO, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment in the press release.

"The City Connect uniforms represent Detroit's unique combination of muscle and innovation and pay homage to the city that put the world on wheels.

"From the tire treads to the VIN tag to the M-1 patch on the sleeve, there are unique features on the uniforms, caps, and batting helmets we feel Tigers fans and Detroiters will appreciate.

"Above all, the uniforms are symbolic of the revitalization and exciting future ahead for the Tigers and our great city."

The Tigers are following in the footsteps of their city's NBA team, the Pistons, who also sport a Motor City themed uniform for the NBA's City Edition line of jerseys.

Those uniforms also have a dark blue hue, but they also have red accents.

MLB fans were split on whether or not they liked the design, but a large consensus was that they were a little boring.

"They don't look bad they're just boring," one fan said.

"These are like if Great Britain made an effort. They're nice, but boring. Wish the pants were White," another fan said.

"I'm starting to hate all of these city connect jerseys," a third fan said.

"These are okay. They look like soccer kits," a fourth fan said.

Five more teams are set to receive City Connect jerseys this season to round out the bunch.

The Cleveland Guardians will unveil theirs on May 17, the St. Louis Cardinals on May 25, the Toronto Blue Jays on May 31, and the Minnesota Twins on June 14.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are also unveiling a second City Connect jersey on June 21.

After this round of releases, only the Oakland A's and New York Yankees will be without city connects.

The A's won't receive one due to their plans to leave the city, and the Yankees opted out of the program.
