Consumers have been warned not to eat certain ground cinnamon and ginger products after they were found to contain lead. New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard A. Ball issued an urgent advisory against the Badia Spices condiments on Monday. Analysis by New York State Food Laboratory found the products contained unsafe levels of lead - more than 1-part per million. No illnesses have been reported. Officials have warned consumers across the country to check their cupboards for the spices and to discard them immediately if found.
