Steve Clarke has shouldered his share of the blame for Scotland's dismal performance in the 5-1 defeat to Germany - and acknowledged they let the nation down. Reluctant to make excuses for the stage fright which gripped his players in the opening game of Euro 2024, the manager confessed to over-loading his side with too much information before kick-off. German coach Julian Nagelsmann claimed the Scots looked 'afraid' during a shambolic first half when they shipped three goals and lost Ryan Porteous to a red card.
