Willie Mays — the baseball legend who made history as the first Black team captain in the major leagues — has died. He was 93. The San Francisco Giants announced the former center fielder, who also played for the New York Mets, died on Tuesday, June 18. Major League Baseball also announced his death. "It is with great sadness that we announce that San Francisco Giants Legend and Hall of Famer Willie Mays passed away peacefully this afternoon at the age of 93,"
