Paleontologists have discovered 'exceptionally' preserved fossils of a dog-sized dinosaur that lived underground in Utah over 99 million years ago. The new species, called Fona herzogae, was a small, plant-eating creature that featured powerful bicep muscles, a fused pelvis for stability and large hindlegs that were ideal for its underground lifestyle. Researchers found near complete skeletons of several creatures still in their original death pose, chest down with splayed forelimbs, which suggests they perished below the surface.
