Ronald Reagan was the last president to be shot in an assassination attempt before Donald Trump was hit at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. When leaving the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. on March 30, 1981, Reagan was shot at several times and wounded when one bullet ricocheted off a vehicle and struck him under the left armpit. Then-President Reagan spent 12 days at George Washington University Hospital before returning to the White House.
