An urgent recall has been issued for chicken products across the country after a deadly listeria contamination was detected. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) recalled 2,000 pounds of chicken kebabs and patties on Friday after a routine inspection found the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes at the producer's facility. The bacteria can cause listeriosis that can be fatal to the elderly, young children and the immunocompromised. The potentially infected items include Al Safa Halal Charcoal Grilled Chicken Seekh Kebab Grilled, Minced, Chicken Patty Kebab with the best before date 'NOV 30 25' and product number '0605404' printed on a sticker on the outside of the package.
