Of all the bizarre attempts to liven up the Olympics for a younger audience, surely nothing came close to the sight of long-time gangsta rapper Snoop Dogg togged up in full dressage kit, discussing the finer points of equestrianism with US 'domestic goddess' Martha Stewart, 83. Apart from both being former jailbirds (though not cellmates), there's little to explain the unlikely friendship that has developed since he appeared on her cookery show to make mashed potatoes in 2008.
