Tim Walz responds to proposal to debate J.D. Vance

Kamala Harris vice presidential pick Tim Walz has accepted an offer to debate Donald Trump's running mate on October 1. The Harris campaign confirmed on Wednesday that Walz had agreed to terms with CBS News for the showdown just over a month before the general election. Vance has yet to formally accept, but has already indicated he wants a debate. The move towards the showdown came as Donald Trump laid out some of his economic policies at a speech in North Carolina and voted early in the Florida primary.
