One of Mexico's most notorious drug lords has been released from a United States prison despite not serving his full 25-year sentence - and it is unclear if he will be returning to Mexico. Osiel Cárdenas Guillén, who once led the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas gang, was released from prison in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 30 and placed in the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Mexican news outlet Milenio confirmed.
