Chinese fast fashion giants Shein and Temu have been caught in the crosshairs of President Donald Trump's tariff wars. In addition to tariffs of up to 25 percent on goods from Mexico, Canada and China, Trump is ending a loophole that has allowed the two companies to flood the US market with ultra-cheap goods. Both Shein and Temu rely on the 'de minimis rule', a century-old trade law that allows imports valued under $800 to enter the US duty-free - provided they are shipped directly to individual buyers.
