Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers completely fell flat Sunday afternoon.
The Carolina Panthers rolled into Lambeau Field and stunned the Packers, 16-13. That ended Green Bay's three-game winning streak and got the Panthers back above .500 this season. They've won four of their past five, with Sunday's victory being their most impressive in that stretch.
While Rico Dowdle had another big day on the ground — he was the first 100-yard rusher the Packers allowed this season — the Panthers didn't do anything extraordinary in Wisconsin. The Packers just looked, well, bad.
Carolina took a one-point lead at halftime, thanks to a late 5-yard touchdown run from Dowdle in the second quarter. Love and the Packers couldn't get much going in the first half. Savion Williams fumbled to ruin a very promising opening drive deep into Panthers territory, and then Green Bay managed to get only a Brandon McManus field goal after intercepting Bryce Young on the next drive to finally get on the board. McManus hit one more field goal before halftime.
It didn't get any better in the third quarter, either. McManus missed a field goal early, and Love threw a bad ball into triple coverage that was intercepted by Tre Moehrig later in the quarter.

That set up Dowdle's second score of the day, a 1-yard punch-in run, to put Carolina ahead by a touchdown.
Love got the Packers into the red zone again early in the fourth quarter, but they stalled out and he threw what should have been an interception on fourth-and-long. But Mike Jackson, despite being completely wide open, dropped the pick. While it didn't matter and the Panthers still forced the turnover on downs, it would have been the easiest interception of Jackson's career.
Remarkably, after forcing a quick punt, Love and the Packers got one last chance. The QB quickly marched the Packers into scoring position in a matter of minutes, and kept the drive alive with an 11-yard completion on fourth down before Josh Jacobs got across the goal line to tie the game up just before the two-minute warning. That touchdown was upheld after a challenge.

But Bryce Young got the Panthers moving quickly after that, and they crossed midfield after a 19-yard burst from Dowdle in the final minute to set up Ryan Fitzgerald's game-winning field goal.
Young went 11-of-20 passing for 102 yards with an interception in the win for Carolina. Dowdle finished with 130 yards and two scores on 24 carries. Tetairoa McMillan had 46 yards on four catches to lead the Panthers through the air.
The Panthers are hanging in the NFC South race at a critical point of the season. If they can beat the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons in their next two outings, a divisional win — something they haven't done since their Super Bowl run a decade ago — isn't out of the question. That's not something many expected even a few weeks ago.
Love finished 26-of-37 passing for 273 yards with an interception. Jacobs had 87 yards and a score on 17 carries, and Romeo Doubs had 91 yards on seven catches.
In Love's defense of a disappointing outing, he lost two targets in Sunday's game. Tight end Tucker Kraft left early with a knee injury and wide receiver Matthew Golden was ruled out with a shoulder injury.
The Packers entered the weekend with the best record in the NFC. They had lost only once this fall, a three-point defeat to the Cleveland Browns in similar fashion in mid-September. But they didn't look like the best team in the conference Sunday afternoon, not even close. They'll have to rebound quickly, too, as they'll host the Philadelphia Eagles next week on Monday night.
You could write off Sunday's loss as just an off day. The last time this happened, Green Bay rattled off three wins and a tie in its next four games. But if the Packers come out flat against the defending Super Bowl champions, there may be a larger issue here for Love and the Packers.
