Mickey Rourke Seen Outside His Los Angeles Home After Approving of GoFundMe to Avoid Eviction

Mickey Rourkewas seen outside of his Los Angeles home soon after the actor approved the launch of aGoFundMe page in an attempt to avoid evictionfrom the property.

Rourke, 73, was photographed outside of the property in L.A. on Sunday, Jan. 4, the same day an online fundraiser was created in his name by Liya-Joelle Jones, whomThe Hollywood Reporteridentified as a friend of Rourke's and a member of his management team. Jones'GoFundMefundraiser is titled "Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home," and holds a fundraising goal of $100,000.

TheSin Cityactor previously made news regarding his financial situation when hewas served a notice to pay the $59,100 in back rent he allegedly owes or vacate his Los Angeles property, according to a complaint filed on Dec. 29 and obtained by PEOPLE.

"Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home," a description for the GoFundMe page reads. "Life doesn't always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk."

"Today, Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home. This fundraiser is being created with Mickey's full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening," Jones wrote in the description for the fundraiser.

As of Jan. 5, Rourke's GoFundMe has raised more than $68,000 through some 1,700 donations.

"Mickey Rourke is an icon—but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one. It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs," she added. "Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability. What remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing, and the chance to regain his footing. The goal is simple: to give Mickey stability and peace of mind during an extremely stressful time—so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference."

Rourke began renting the property in question shortly before he decided to pursue legal action againstCelebrity Big Brother U.K.over an alleged pay dispute following his controversial exit from the reality show in April 2025.

The actor left the series after he used language that was considered "threatening and aggressive" on the show, as a spokesperson told PEOPLE at the time.
