The actress got her start as a model before she got her big break when director Alfred Hitchcock discovered her and cast her in his 1963 classic,The Birds.From then on, Hedren starred in other films such asMarnie, Through the Eyes of a Killer, Pacific Heightsand more.
In 1957, Hedren and then-husband Peter Griffith welcomed daughterMelanie, who went on to forge her own illustrious career in Hollywood. Melanie — the star of films such asJoy Ride, Paradise, Mulholland Fallsand more — would welcome her first daughter,Dakota Johnson, in 1989, who continues to carry the leading lady torch.
