Canada's second-major airline has left tens of thousands of passengers stranded and scrambling for answers after it canceled hundreds of flights over the holiday weekend. Calgary-based WestJet announced Saturday morning that it would cancel more than 400 flights through Sunday - affecting nearly 50,000 customers - as it struggles to reach an agreement with the Aircraft Mechanical Fraternal Association, which voted to strike Friday night and prompted hundreds of employees to walk off the job.

Kanye West was mobbed by fans in Russia as he jetted in for a surprise visit to Moscow. The American rapper, 47, is thought to be in the country to celebrate the 40th birthday of Russian fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, and not for a concert. Kanye hired the post-Soviet fashion poster boy as his Yeezy brand's creative director in December 2023 in which Rubchinskiy was described as 'legendary'. He announced his arrival to the city with a message on state-monitored website VKontakte - Russia's answer to Facebook - in which he wrote in Russian: 'Hello, Moscow.

A Chicago judge has shot down an attempt to void a will that would see $11miilion left to an inactive day care company. Cook County Judge Daniel O. Tiernan made the decision Thursday, after hearing testimony from two men who say they witnessed the late Joseph Stancak sign the will the year before he passed away at age 87 in 2016. Mansoor Afzal and Asad Mahmood said they saw Stancak, a longtime recluse who lived in a modest five-bedroom in Gage Park, sign the will at a New York real estate office in 2015.

A suspected racially motivated shooting in suburban Nebraska has left seven people injured. The gunfire came from 74-year-old Crete resident Billy Booth Friday, and culminated with him turning the gun on himself and taking his own life, cops said. The incident occurred just before 4 pm local time, and spurred a pronounced police response. Four of the victims were children ranging in age from 3 to 10 and three were adults, State Troopers said - electing not to name those affected as some recover from non-life-threatening injuries in local hospitals.
