"So thanks again, BAFTA in your horribly chilly e-mail," Kate concluded.

Kate announced on January 10 that her stepfather died at age 87.

"It is with nice sorrow that the household of film and tv director Roy Battersby announce the news of his current dying after a quick interval of sickness," she wrote in a press release shared by way of her Instagram Story. "He handed away peacefully on 10 January 2024, in Los Angeles surrounded by household, aged 87. Funeral can be held in London, particulars to comply with."

Battersby's dying came almost one week after Kate attended the Golden Globes. Following the awards present, she visited her stepfather while he was in the hospital.
