'3 Body Problem' showrunners discuss what the aliens might really look like | 5491605 | 2024-04-01 10:08:01
3 Body Problem has left us with all types of burning questions, not least of which is what the San-Ti alien threat might actually look like in their real form.
We've already dug in pretty deeply into that final one, however that didn't cease us from putting it to showrunners David Benioff, D. B. Weiss and Alexander Woo when Mashable spoke to them concerning the show.
Did they all have an image of the aliens of their heads? Have they mentioned it collectively? And are we going to see the true type of the San-Ti in future seasons?
"My guess is the three of us may need three very totally different photographs of what the aliens seem like," Benioff informed Mashable. "The query of whether or not you see the aliens or not in future seasons is an enormous, huge spoilery thing, so I gained't need to dive into that one, but as Wade says in one of many scenes, I feel in episode 6 or 7, we don't even understand how massive they're. It's potential they're the dimensions of ladybugs."
The thought of the aliens as tiny creatures might fit with the comparison to tardigrades, the microscopic real-life creatures that also have the power to survive in a dehydrated state. Perhaps Benioff's point out of measurement, and the concept they could possibly be as small as ladybugs (which may range in size from about one to 10 millimetres), is not any accident.
In the meantime, Woo had his own hopes for what the San-Ti could be like.
"I notably hope that the aliens all seem like Stephen Fry," he stated, "as a result of that may be a dream come true to have the ability to work with him."
Spoilers for Liu Cixin's novels under, on which three Body Drawback is predicated! Tread rigorously.
Benioff did give yet one more tidbit, nevertheless it accommodates delicate spoilers for Liu Cixin's Remembrance of Earth's Previous trilogy.
"Within the books you see multiple alien race," Benioff advised Mashable. "There's a personality referred to as Singer in a future e-book, and hopefully a future season if we get that far, and that's sort of considered one of our aim posts, as a result of it's a scene from the books that's incredibly memorable, one among our favourite chapters, and we very a lot hope we get to point out it, to create, and permit an audience to see it."
We cannot go too far into ebook spoilers, however suffice it to say that Singer is a member of one of the totally different alien races that Benioff mentions. Intriguing!
