Americans can claim $400 from Bosch home appliance settlement – the six model numbers to check | 1P4Q739 | 2024-05-07 17:08:01
A NUMBER of Bosch customers can receive cash for a settlement as the company pays people over claims of defective home appliances.
BSH Home Appliances agreed to pay $2 million to its customer to resolve claims that its Bosch appliances have defective parts that cause panel failure.
Only some customers with certain products can claim the cash with proof of purchase.
Those who qualify get up to $400 as a part of the $2 million settlement to resolve the home appliance class action lawsuit had until last month to claim the money, according to Top Class Actions.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 13.
Class members have until September 3 to submit a claim for Tier 1(a) benefits.
Those who are submitting a claim for Tier 1(b) or Tier 2 benefits have until February 12, 2025.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members are able to receive one of three benefit tiers.
Tier 1(a) benefits include reimbursement of up to $400 for documented out-of-pocket costs related to a past display failure.
Tier 1(b) benefits provide class members with the same $400 reimbursement for future display failures.
Tier 2 benefits feature a three-year extended service plan benefit involving Bosch replacing failed VFD control panels.
You're eligible to make a claim if you purchased certain Bosch brand microwaves or ovens, acquired the product as part of a home purchase or remodel or received it as a gift.
If you have a Bosch home appliance with model numbers HBL5751UC, HBL8751UC, HBLP751UC, HMC80151UC, HMC80251UC or HMC87151UC, you could see some deserved cash soon.
The ways that customers can prove that they qualify for the settlement include providing model and serial numbers, receipts, or checks that show they made the Bosch purchase.
Credit card statements, warranty registrations, photographs, repair communications or service invoices also work as proof of purchase.
Other American consumers saw themselves receiving money due to a recent class action as well.
A number of residents were able to qualify for up to $5,000 in settlement money after a January 2022 major data breach lawsuit.
A cyberattack compromised patient names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, health insurance data and more causing a prosthetics and medical device company to pay out $2.9 million.
Wright & Filipps sent out a letter informing people affected that their data may have been compromised can qualify for compensation.
The deadline to file a claim was May 8.
