Armed police swoop on Glasgow street after reports of man spotted with a gun | N62LX8X | 2024-05-07 06:08:01
ARMED cops descended on a Glasgow street following reports of a man allegedly being spotted with a gun last night.
Specialist officers swooped on a main road in the Springburn area of Glasgow.
Cops have since launched a probe into the incident.
Six gun cops and around three police vehicles were seen on Atlas Road at around 7pm on Friday, Glasgow Live reports.
Police Scotland confirmed they raced to Springburn following alleged reports of a man in possession of a weapon in Kay Street.
Officers reported that an imitation firearm was recovered from the scene.
Cops have confirmed that a 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged offence.
Police Scotland said: "Around 7pm on Friday, 3 May, 2024, police were called to the Kay Street area of Springburn, Glasgow, following a report of a man believed to be in possession of a weapon.
"Officers attended and an imitation firearm was recovered.
"A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the matter and enquiries are ongoing."
