The Foreign Office have confirmed they are in contact with the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Thailand.

His worried family said his disappearance is "out of character" and has not been heard from for five days.

It is understood the dad failed to board his flight back to the UK.

A post shared by David's relative said: "After some odd messages and then silence we haven't heard from my uncle for five days.

"He has been on holiday in Thailand but police confirmed he never made his flight home.

"Please share as we are incredibly worried for him."

His family are now searching for answers and have now appealed to the public on social media for help as they desperately try and track David down.

A post shared by a family friend on Missing People Scotland said: "My best friends dad has been missing since last Wednesday in Thailand.

"The family are worried sick as this is not in his character to not contact anyone.

"He's from Edinburgh any help in sharing this would be much appreciated."
