On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences extended invitations to join the organization to 487 artists and executives including actresses Lily Gladstone, Jessica Alba, and Kate Mara. The long list of invitees - separated into 19 categories - includes 19 Oscar winners and 71 Oscar nominees. 56% of new members are from 56 countries or territories located outside the States, 41% are from underrepresented ethnic and racial communities, and 44% of new members identify as women.
